～ベルギー人が見たTOKYO～

Vol.3  YANAKA, NEZU, SENDAGI 　

今日は谷中と千駄木を一緒に散策してみましょう。
私はガイドの仕事で良くこの界隈を訪れます。外国人観光客は、秋葉原や新宿のような賑やかで忙しい観光地を巡り、ちょっと休憩するかのように谷中にやってきます。 大通りから路地への入り込み、戦争の爆撃による被害を免れ「古き良き東京」の佇まいを残した街並み。この地域を探索することで、特別な時間を過ごしたと感じる観光客は少なくありません。 　　

Today, let’s take a walk around Yanaka, Nezu&Sendagi.It is a neighborhood in which I’m going quite regularly, thanks to my work.Foreigners people who come to Japan for holidays like to leave the main roads and busy place like Shinjuku or Akihabara for a break. And Yanaka is one of the few areas spared by the bombings, so many Europeans have the image of an “old TOKYO” and love to discover that place.

個人的には犬派の私ですが、谷中、谷中銀座で自由気ままに過ごす猫たちを眺めるのも悪くはありません。 猫たちを横目に、景色を楽しみながら路地を行くと根津神社に到着します。この神社は春のつつじ祭り期間は格別の美しさですが、１年中季節ごとの美しさがあり来訪者の目を楽しませています。多くの外国人観光客は、まず明治神宮や靖国神社に足を向けますが、根津神社のようにひっそりとでも威風ある場所を彼らに紹介するのが私の楽しみでもあります。

Even if I am more dogs lover, it is also nice to see the cats of Yanaka and Yanaka ginza. And make walk in “past-time” through the narrow streets, some of them are so small that I do not pass face, but she takes me to the beautiful Nezu Jinja . This shrine is beautiful during the spring, in the period of Tsutsuji matsuri, but it remains beautiful all the rest of the year.

東京には共有すべき多くの秘宝に満ちた都市です。しかしそれらは自ら探さなければ見つけるところができないところが 魅力の一つでもあると感じています。

It’s always a pleasure to go with other tourists, because for many people coming to Japan, they first go to Meiji-jingu or Yasukuni jinja, but TOKYO is a city full of treasures to share, it just have to look for them.
